Introduction:
|
Joyce Craig practices patent litigation in district courts and the preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her focus is in the consumer products, electronics, and information technology fields.
Ms. Craig has represented U.S. Philips Corporation in the Central District of California in several cases involving manufacturers of unlicensed DVD players as well as in the District of Delaware in a case involving JPEG image compression. She also represented Zipher Ltd. and Videojet Technologies, Inc. in the District of New Hampshire in a lawsuit involving thermal transfer printer technology.
Ms. Craig was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Joseph J. Farnan, Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. She was also a Dean’s Fellow, responsible for coordinating the Legal Research and Writing program for first-year law students. Before attending law school, Ms. Craig spent fourteen years working internationally as a computer programmer/analyst and project manager in the field of software development.
Ms. Craig continues to devote a portion of her time to pro bono matters. She has represented criminal defendants in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Ms. Craig serves as editor for the AIPLA Antitrust Law Newsletter and the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia Raising the Bar newsletter.
